Zine/Storyline Description:
For this project, I chose to focus on the Cockatoo, a vibrant and intelligent bird known for its striking plumage and playful personality. The zine I designed tells the story of a Cockatoo, who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and adventure.
Design Elements:
The zine features photographs I've taken from vacations; diverse environments I encountered. The colour palette is inspired by the countries visited, also detailing the Cockatoos hues. The layout is designed to be visually engaging, and stylised to look like a travel board. All photos I've taken have been transformed into illustrations and smaller, detailed objects have been added that compliment the each country.
This project allowed me to combine storytelling and illustration with my love for photography, creating a unique and imaginative zine - the overall message being that travelling will help you to find yourself; in this case the Cockatoo found 'home,' but wouldn't have been able to do this without travelling the globe!
